Digital Citizenship: Self-Reflection
Digital Citizenship is a course that will teach you how to appropriately and responsibly use technology. Week by week, we develop a deeper understanding of the nine elements of digital citizenship. Although I see how important each element is, I feel like the elements that deal with online safety are what I was drawn to most. As a teacher, I am responsible for the safety of all my students in the classroom. The same is true in an online classroom. Taking this course has given me the tools and information I need to keep students safe, to teach students how to keep themselves safe, and to keep parents informed on online safety.
Integrating Digital Technology in the Classroom

With our latest assignment, Digital Citizenship Contract, I think it will be a cool idea to start this in my class. We do something similar in our classroom for our rules. It is a great way for us to build a sense of community, students will feel empowered and take ownership of their actions. Here is the Digital Citizenship Contract:
I also plan on sharing a few online safety tips on my Weekly Newsletters to help keep parents informed. I may even share online resources or videos in my Blackboard course for parents and students about online safety. Here are some online resources I plan to share in my class:
